48-0 Win Over Packers Clinches First Place For Lions

Last night,
the Lions played a very well executed game against the Greenfield
Park Packers for a 48-0 win which guarantees them a first place finish
in the Bill Allan division of the QBFL. Leading the scoring for
the Lions were Josh George and Sammy Mesidor who both got two rushing
TD's each. From the air, receivers Robin Schmidt and Richie
Elias each grabbed a TD pass from QB Matt Leblanc and linebacker Chris
Coll picked off the Packers QB and ran the interception in 40 yards for
a defensive TD. Joey Fulginiti was successful on 6 of 7 convert
attempts.
The North Shore
defense played another very solid game to ensure the shutout.
Linebacker Greg Lee played an outstanding game at middle linebacker as
he came through with an interception and a QB sack to lead the defense.
Kevin Slawter-Vassell and Ben Heazle each came up with a fumble
recovery and Jesse St. James teamed up with Heazle for the second sack
of the night for the Lions.
Next week, the
Lions travel to Blainville to take on the Laurentian Wildcats.
The game is on Saturday, October 7th at 18:00.
