Lions defeat St. Leonard Cougars 52 - 0.

Lions now 6 - 0.

The North Shore Lions defeated the St. Leonard Cougars 52 - 0 on Friday night at Riverdale park.

The Lions current winning streak is now at 75 games.

The Lions got their first points of the game without the offense making a presence. After St. Leonard took the opening kick-off and were stopped on their first series, Shawn Steen took the first punt of the game back 65 yards for his first touchdown of the game.  This was followed by a Kevin Kyere run of 6 yards, his 8th touchdown of the season.  Davide Santilli ran in another TD from 2 yards out,  and Shawn Steen added a 2 point conversion on the fake extra point.  With 6:30 left in the half Jonathan Doughlin hooked up with Tim Banfill on a 15 yard pass for a TD and a 28 - 0 lead.  That was the score going into halftime.

In the second half, Cedric Joseph ran it in from the 1 for a TD.  Then Shawn Steen stepped in front of a St. Leonard attempted pass and ran it back for a 60 yard interception touchdown, his second TD of the game.  Jersey Henry scored the final touchdown of the game followed by a Shawn Steen field goal from 25 yards out.

The defense played a stellar game consistently stopping any offensive threat that the opposition tried to mount.
Besides playing another solid game on defense, Shawn Steen also ended up with a total of 22 points.

The Lions next game will be played at St. Laurent on Sunday Sept 27th 14:00.
