Lions Breeze Past Packers 79-0
In a game that was
fully expected to be a mismatch, the Lions took on the struggling
Greenfield Park Packers last night winning the game easily by a score
of 79-0.
On offense, the
Lions once again showed what kind of powerhouse they can be by
generating 450 total yards and scoring on almost every series of plays.
This brings them back on track for averaging 400 yards per game
this season. Their rushing attack was unstoppable as they used
their endless supply of weapons to produce their awesome results.
Key contributors were:
Sammy Mesidor - 9 carries for 100 yards and 2 TD's
Eric Locas - 10 carries for 91 yards and 2 TD's
Andrew Hopkins - 2 carries for 66 yards and 2 TD's
Matthew John - 2 carries for 65 yards and 1 TD
Maxx St. James - 3 carries for 23 yards and 1 TD plus a 2 point convert
QB Maxx St. James
connected with receiver Chris Coll on a 20 yarder for the only passing
TD of the night and Hopkins also added 9 converts to his scoring total.
The defense once
again played a stellar game pushing the Packers backwards for
negative 12 yards of total offense. Linebacker Kevin Kilbourne
made a beautiful interception in the first quarter which he ran back 50
yards for his first TD this year. Mark Continelli also got his
first TD when he pounced on a loose ball in the Packers endzone.
Shaquille Lattimore came up with an interception of his own later in
the game and Defensive End Kyle Macgregor had a huge game registering 2
QB sacks and a fumble recovery. Greg Lee, Alex Gascon and Kevin
Slawter also got sacks for the defense.
Next week, the
Lions continue their road trip when they visit the St. Leonard Cougars
at Stade Hebert. The game is on Sunday, September 23rd at 14:00.
