Lions Win Playoff Mudfest 42-0 vs Wildcats

Last night, the
Lions won their first playoff game of the season 42-0 against the
Laurentian Wildcats under the dreariest and most miserable conditions
imaginable. On a night where the cold and icy rain was
relentless, the Lions definitely came out to play and showed why they
were number one in the Bill Allan division during the regular season.
In the first
offensive series for the Lions, QB Matt Leblanc threw a perfect strike
to Richie Elias that went 40 yards for a TD. From that point on
the Lions offense never looked back as they continued to generate more
TD's by Josh George, Sammy Mesidor, and Max St. James. Mesidor
also returned a punt for the Lions' first special teams TD of the
season. Joey Fulginiti was good for 4 converts.
The Lions defense
was back to their old selves again as they held the Wildcats offense to
a paltry 2 yards for the entire game. Leading the way defensively
was Jesse St. James who returned an interception for a TD and recovered
a fumble. Eric Delavaud registered 2 QB sacks while Oliver
Bernardi and Francis "Gédéon" Richard got one each.
The defense was also credited with two more points when the
Wildcats conceded in their own endzone.
Next week, the
Lions will still be at home as they have earned home-field advantage
throughout the playoffs, however their opponent is yet to be determined
pending the outcome of other playoff games in the QBFL. The game
will be at
Riverdale next Saturday, October 28th at 20:00.
