Lions Get By First Round of Playoffs With 42-6 Romp Over Lasalle

The North Shore
Lions have made their way past the quarter finals of the QBFL playoffs
with a decisive 42-6 victory over the Lasalle Warriors. Andrew
Hopkins and Ernst Pierre, who carried the ball 9 times each for 138 and
46 yards respectively, each scored two rushing TD's on the day.
Receiver Chris Cione caught a nice 60 yard pass and run play from
QB Vincent Bourgon for the only passing TD of the game. Shawn
Steen connected on 5 converts while Trevor Cernivz got the last one.
The defense, which
gave up only 88 total yards, was led by linebacker Patrick Smith who
registered 11 tackles and 2 sacks. Killian Moore came up with a
huge interception that was run back for a TD while Francis
Chiquette and William Page tag-teamed the Lasalle QB for another sack
earlier in the game. Gabriel Dansereau recovered a fumble to
stop a first quarter drive by the Warriors.
The Lions now move
on to the semi-finals where they will face the St. Bruno Barons.
The game will be played at GMF in DDO on Saturday, Nov. 8th.
