Lions Get By First Round of Playoffs With 42-6 Romp Over Lasalle

The North Shore Lions have made their way past the quarter finals of the QBFL playoffs with a decisive 42-6 victory over the Lasalle Warriors.   Andrew Hopkins and Ernst Pierre, who carried the ball 9 times each for 138 and 46 yards respectively, each scored two rushing TD's on the day.  Receiver Chris Cione caught a nice 60 yard pass and run play from QB Vincent Bourgon for the only passing TD of the game.  Shawn Steen connected on 5 converts while Trevor Cernivz got the last one.

The defense, which gave up only 88 total yards, was led by linebacker Patrick Smith who registered 11 tackles and 2 sacks.  Killian Moore came up with a huge interception that was run back for a TD  while Francis Chiquette and William Page tag-teamed the Lasalle QB for another sack earlier in the game.  Gabriel Dansereau recovered a fumble to stop a first quarter drive by the Warriors.

The Lions now move on to the semi-finals where they will face the St. Bruno Barons.  The game will be played at GMF in DDO on Saturday, Nov. 8th.  The time has yet to be confirmed and will be posted once we have more details.
