Lions Begin Season With A Win

The Lions opened
their regular season last night with a decisive 38-0 victory over the
Richelieu Pirates. On offense, touchdowns were scored by Richie
Elias, Ross Olshansky, Matt Leblanc, Josh George and Spencer Karls.
Joey Fulginiti was good for 4 converts and managed to
salvage a fifth convert on a bad snap when he threw a pass to
Richie Elias for two points. The final two points were
contributed by the Lions defense when Richelieu conceded in their own
end-zone.
The Lions defense
racked up their first of hopefully many shutouts this year.
Mohammed Malik came up with a key interception deep in their own
end while Joey Fulginiti and Ben Heazle each recorded a QB sack.
Nick Gaudrealt 's fumble recovery in the first half kept the
momentum going for the Lions giving them the opportunity to start
another scoring drive.
The Lions' next game
is Friday August 18th when they host the St. Leonard Cougars at
Riverdale. We hope to see everyone out to support the Lions in
the home opener.
