Lions Recognize Veteran Coaches During Celebration Of 50 Consecutive Victories
Following last
weekend's win against Richelieu which gave the Lions their 50th
consecutive victory, the team held an informal and impromptu
celebration in their locker room last night to mark the milestone event
and to recognize the accomplishments of 3 veteran coaches that have
been with the team throughout all 50 games.
Along with the
pizza, drinks, and cake that were enjoyed by all, a presentation was
made to coaches Jason Jourdenais (HC), Jim Aiken (DC), and Alan Baum
(RB) in recognition of the fact that they have been a large part of the
success for these 50 games. Former team captains and managers
along with representatives of the NSFL were on hand to take part in the
festivities and go over some of the memories of the past four seasons.
From here, the Lions will continue to strive to keep this streak
alive so that they can reach their next milestone next season by
beating the team record of 57 straight wins which was achieved in
1977.
Special thanks go
out to Mr. Gary Grace for all of the research and hard work that he put
in to make this event happen as well as to photographer Americo Valente
for putting together such impressive plaques to be presented to our
coaches.
