Message From The Head Coach
Welcome to the North Shore Lions website and we hope that you will continue to visit this site often, to keep up to date on what is happening with the North Shore Lions football program. The North Shore Lions football program has been in existence since 1967 and since that time, the Lions have put together an exceptional program that continues to be the best bantam football program in the province. The Lions continue to be a reflection of the local community football programs they represent, Alexander Park, A Ma Baie, Sunneybrooke and Westpark. These programs in addition to the North Shore Cheetahs continue to be a big part of the success of the North Shore Lions. Without these local football programs that continue to develop the young men that will one day wear the blue and orange colors, the Lions would not be as successful as they have been over the last 40+ years. Our staff is an extension of these programs, just about all of our coaches have been involved in one way or another with one or more of the local programs, as well as several have also been players themselves. As you can see, we are one big community that volunteers their time, to a passion that we all share, football. It's not only a passion about winning, its also about helping the young men in our community to develop into responsible adults. We are dedicated to the athletic, social, and intellectual development of our players. As in the beginning with the first head coach, Ron Hutchison, and all the subsequent coaches that followed in his footsteps. We will continue to develop our players so that they can be the best they can on the field as well as off the field. In everything we do, we incorporate the character values of Caring, Honesty, Responsibility and Respect. We enter the 2009 season on what we can only refer to as a competitive high. We're optimistic that our 2009 team will be in contention for league and provincial honors.
