North Shore Lions advance to bantam football final Sunday

Team aims to avenge loss that snapped their six-year, 78-game unbeaten streak

The North Shore Lions are once again going to the big dance.

The Lions advanced to the Quebec Bantam Football League final after beating the Sun Youth Hornets 48-6 Saturday at Riverdale Park in Pierrefonds.

The Lions will meet the Laurentien Wildcats in the QBFL final this Sunday in St. Léonard.
Kickoff is set for 11:30 a.m. at Stade Hébert.

The Lions are looking to avenge last month’s regular- season loss to the Wildcats, who snapped the Lions’ six-year, 78-game unbeaten streak.

Kevin Kyere rushed for a pair of TDs against the Hornets. Other North Shore TDs were scored by Marco Rossi, Skylar Bayliff, Cedric Joseph and Tim Banfill.

Shawn Steen added a pair of field goals (25 and 35 yards).

Steen also had two interceptions, while Jaylan Grandison and Eric Paquette had one pick each. Mathieu Breton recovered a fumble and William Page had a quarterback sack.
